The 4th Taihu International Forum and Contract Water Conservation Management Meeting was held in Suzhou

On December 12, 2018, the Fourth Taihu International Forum was held in Suzhou under the guidance of the China National Institute of Standardization and the Center for Environmental and Economic Policy Research of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, jointly sponsored by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and the Ziyuan Branch of the China National Institute of Standardization. Duan Lian, deputy party secretary of our institute, was invited to attend and deliver a speech.


On the afternoon of the 12th, the First Contract Water-Saving Management Exchange Meeting was jointly organized by Zihuan Branch of CNIS and WWF. The meeting was presided over by Lin ling, Director of Zihuan Branch. Niu Bo, Director of the water-saving department of the National Development and Reform Commission, Zhang Xiaohui from the Ministry of Water Resources delivered speeches respectively. More than 80 experts from all relevant parties and business representatives attended the meeting. 
Experts from the Ministry of Water Resources Science and Technology Promotion Center and other units were invited to give special reports on contract water-saving management models, standards and financial instruments, and representatives of enterprises were invited to share cases in the fields of printing and dyeing technology, hotel linen washing, micro-water environmental protection car washing, urban pipe network leakage control, water-saving renovation in universities and black and smelly water treatment. Finally, the attendants discussed issues about the policy needs, constraints and development direction.
The convening of this meeting provides a platform for exchange and working ideas for the implementation of contract water-saving management in various fields, the acceleration of water-saving marketization mechanism and the implementation of national water-saving actions.
